Our Law Firm's Process

Eliminate Debt

Both Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 personal bankruptcy can eliminate overwhelming debt. Debts may include credit card debt, bank loans, medical bills, most court judgments, and deficiencies on repossessed vehicles. When you speak to a bankruptcy lawyer at our law firm, we will let you know what you qualify for and discuss all of your options.

Stop Harassment / Garnishment

By law, most actions against you must cease once a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 personal bankruptcy has been filed. Creditors cannot initiate or continue lawsuits, wage garnishments, or even telephone calls demanding payments. Our bankruptcy law firm will act quickly to file your bankruptcy petition, stop the phone calls and lift any burdensome garnishments.

Keep Your Assets / Rebuild Credit

You may be able to keep your car, house and other personal belongings when filing for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 personal bankruptcy. When you work with our bankruptcy law firm, our personal bankruptcy attorneys will help you retain your assets and show you what steps to take following your bankruptcy so that you can quickly get back on your feet. You may also begin to rebuild your credit immediately after.

*$0 Down pertains to attorney’s fees. Client would need to pay associated court filing fees, administrative costs and required credit counseling fees. Attorney will accept case prior to full payment, however, filing the case with the bankruptcy court will occur after attorney's fees have been paid in full.

We are a debt relief agency. We are attorneys who help people file for bankruptcy relief under the bankruptcy code.

Robin De Leo
Attorney At Law

Robin De Leo is an American Board Certified Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist. She is also certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization in Consumer Bankruptcy Law. Ms. De Leo is on the Louisiana Bankruptcy Law Advisory Commission and has spoken at many seminars on the various aspects of bankruptcy. Ms De Leo is one of only two Consumer Bankruptcy Law Specialists practicing in the Eastern District of Louisiana (New Orleans). She is a graduate of Tulane University Law School, cum laude and has practiced bankruptcy law exclusively since 1990. Ms. De Leo is a resident of Mandeville.

Attorney Robin De Leo is the ONLY CERTIFIED CONSUMER BANKRUPTCY SPECIALIST ON THE NORTHSHORE. Certification is granted by three different entities: American Board of Certification; American Bankruptcy Institute; and the Louisiana Board of Specialization. Specialization certification requires: a minimum of 36 hrs of CLE/year, a minimum of 70% of the practice be dedicated to bankruptcy exclusively, numerous character references and the passing of a Special Written Exam. In order to maintain the certification, a recertification process must be completed and passed every 5 years. The staff also regularly completes CLE's to stay abreast of the latest bankruptcy law. Robin De Leo has been practicing bankruptcy exclusively for over 23 years.

The personalized attention coupled with the excellent comprehension and expertise of bankruptcy law ensures our clients are best represented and advised. Some attorneys opt out of the specialization process due to the extra exams, continuing legal education requirements and the additional years of school; my position has always been – if I’m going to do it, I want to do it right and all the way. Why not invest the extra time and money to truly guarantee I am as qualified as possible to best represent my clients? Interestingly enough, the various certification exams are aimed to test individuals who actually work in that particular field. They are not exams designed to resemble a college paper or a deep theoretical study – it is the nuts and bolts of bankruptcy - in addition to odd, unique situations and how to best handle them. There comes a great sense of pride in passing these exams and I am proud to be one of only two attorneys in the Eastern District of Louisiana (New Orleans and surrounding areas), who are specialized in this field.
